History Lesson on Your Social Security Card

Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are

Facts.

Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be Completely voluntary:

No longer Voluntary

2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,

Now 7.65% on the first $90,000

3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year:

No longer tax deductible

4.) That the money the participants put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program:

Under Johnson the money was moved to The General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income:

Under Clinton & Gore Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away' — you may be interested in the following:

———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —-

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.

———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— –

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

A: The Democratic Party.

———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —–

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?

A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— -

Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?

AND MY FAVORITE:

A: That's right!

Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.

Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

Rosa is probably THE foremost expert among opponents of Agenda 21 in the country today. It was a VERY informative meeting. I spoke with Rosa personally after the meeting and she confirmed for me that the Urban Land Institute is not only completely intertwined with the UN Agenda 21, but that the two are completely integrated with each other and that Urban Land Institute is the central vehicle to institute ICLEI policies with local and regional governments. For those supporting Wil Cardon in the race for the US Senate, you need to look into Mr. Cardon's co-chairmanship of the Smart Growth Committee at the Urban Land Institute…

IBD Editorial

Posted 07:03 PM ET

Resources: A new report suggests the United Nations take control of the world's food and water. We'd write this off as a joke except the Obama administration seems to like the idea of global government.

Putting life's essentials under the direct control of perhaps the most corrupt organization on earth doesn't strike us as wise. But that's what a new U.N. report, "21 Issues for the 21st Century," would do.

It suggests "international protocols" and a "shared vision" for land and water use that would, essentially, end current national laws and treaties governing their use.

Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised. Just two months ago, the U.N. suggested a "minimum global tax," and the idea was immediately embraced by some in the Obama administration as a good idea. It's not.

Still, this utopian notion of "one-world government" dies hard. Even though the United Nations has been found to be financially corrupt and almost entirely ineffective, it continues to seek new, sweeping powers.

The 192 member-countries that make up the U.N. see these sweeping new powers to tax us, tell us what food to grow and whom to sell it to, and to give up our rights to our own water as a way to bring the mighty U.S. under the world's heel. They envy our wealth and clout.

President Obama has made it clear throughout his presidency that he doesn't see the U.S. as an exceptional nation, just one of many. That's where the problem begins, since it emboldens the bureaucrats and thieves who run the U.N. to come up with these kinds of ideas.

And guess what? We pay for all this. In 2010, we put up $7.7 billion for U.N. operations, and footed 22% of its total budget. Yet in all its actions, the U.N. seeks to reduce American influence and sway in the world.

In recent years, the U.N. has careened from scandal to scandal, from the illegal payola received by U.N. officials, to the Iraq oil embargo, to repeated scandals involving the U.N. "Peacekeepers," who have been implicated in a deadly outbreak of cholera in Haiti that killed more than 5,000 people and the rape and abuse of female and child refugees in Africa.

And that doesn't even include the insane anti-Israel bias of the U.N.'s voting members, who see pummeling the tiny Jewish state as a way to get back at the U.S.

But sure, let's give it control of the world's resources.

The more we think of this organization, the less we like it. Maybe it's time someone asked: Do we really even need the U.N.?

IBD Editorial

Posted 06:54 PM ET

Scandal: A drug enforcement agent says other agencies knew in 2009 about the Justice Department's gunrunning operation and even tried to interdict the weapons flow. And, yes, it was a gun-control plot.

The notion that Fast and Furious was a localized operation run out of the Phoenix office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives of which few, particularly the arguably clueless Attorney General Eric Holder, were aware continues to be exposed as the lie it is.

"In 2009, I became aware that ATF was walking guns," Tony Coulson, who was in charge of the Drug Enforcement Agency-Tucson during Operation Fast and Furious, said in a recent interview with Michel Marizco of the website Fronteras.

"I also learned that Homeland Security Investigations, then ICE, actually interceded on more than one occasion where they seized weapons at the ports of entry when they were heading southbound contrary to ATF's plans."

The statements by the now-retired Coulson confirm the testimony of ATF agents themselves that providing guns to Mexican drug cartels was intended, not accidental. "Allowing loads of weapons that we knew to be destined for criminals — this was the plan," John Dodson, an ATF agent, testified before the House Government Oversight Committee.

"It was so mandated," ATF agent Olindo James Casa said before the committee, adding that "on several occasions I personally requested to interdict or seize firearms, but I was always ordered to stand down and not to seize the firearms."

Coulson paints a picture not of a well-intentioned local program gone rogue, but of a operation widely known throughout the Obama administration, one deliberately intended to promote the need for gun control. Other agencies knew of the operation and tried to stop the flow of guns to Mexican criminals and drug cartels.

In the Fronteras interview, Coulson also claimed ATF knew that what has come to be known as the "90% lie" was a myth. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others had been pushing the line that 90% of guns seized in Mexico came from the U.S.

"Among federal law enforcement, that became somewhat of a joke," Coulson said. "We all knew that was whatever weapons the Mexican government decided to follow or trace back to the U.S. and never took into account the weapons that came in from Central America, from other countries around the world."

This myth was behind the Justice Department announcement last April 25 that it was making 8,500 gun stores in Arizona, California, Texas and New Mexico report individual purchases of multiple rifles of greater than .22 caliber by law-abiding American citizens to the ATF because — get this — such guns are "frequently recovered at violent crime scenes near the Southwest border."

In the Fronteras interview, Coulson said that when he took the gun walking to his bosses in Phoenix, he was told the lead law enforcement official in Arizona — U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke — was already aware of it.

Burke, who has resigned, has long been a gun-ban architect for the Democratic Party and was behind the ineffectual 1994 "assault weapon" ban that expired in 2004.

Burke was also the former chief of staff for former Gov. Janet Napolitano for a number of years before she became the secretary of Homeland Security. She, as well as Eric Holder, have some explaining to do about what she knew and when she knew it.

As the lies and disinformation pile up, so does evidence that Fast and Furious was intended not to interdict gun trafficking, but make the administration's case for more gun control and infringement of our Second Amendment rights.

Breitbart.com interviewed Catherine Engelbrecht, founder of anti-fraud organization True the Vote. Engelbrecht has taken citizen journalism and activism to the next level, leading the way in making sure the 2012 elections are free, fair, and transparent, in the face of efforts by the institutional left to suppress wildly popular voter ID legislation.

On April 27 and 28, Engelbrecht and True the Vote are hosting a National Summit in Houston, Texas. The two-day event will bring together nationally recognized experts on the issue of election integrity, as well as and grassroots leaders of election integrity movements from across the country. Last year's Summit drew leaders from 27 states (including Alaska), and Engelbrecht expect this year's event to be even bigger.

Breitbart.com: Election fraud–how big a problem is it?

Engelbrecht: I think you have to start by asking: how much fraud is OK? The answer is none. But, there do seem to be very organized, methodical, strategies in place to exploit our system. Examples like the coordinated vote;buying that goes on in parts of Texas; absentee ballot fraud in Wisconsin and New York, non-citizens voting in Florida and Colorado; the nationwide ACORN voter registration scandals–these are just a few of the problems we've seen recently. In fact, in the past ten years, forty-seven states have prosecuted some kind of election fraud. It's not the rarity some pretend it to be. It's a serious, pervasive, corrosive problem and it has to be stopped. Belief that the results of our elections reflect the will of the people is the underpinning of our entire republic.

Breitbart.com: Why does there need to be a program like True the Vote?

Engelbrecht: In recent years, we’ve seen increasingly lax standards produce increasingly unreliable results–and our problems are compounded by a severe shortage of volunteers who are desperately needed to help work in the polls, help review the registry, help support a fair and legal electoral process at every possible stage. We believe the best solution is a well-organized national volunteer program that inspires and equips citizens to actively protect the rights of legitimate voters.

Breitbart.com: So what is True the Vote doing?

Engelbrecht: True the Vote is a citizen-led effort to educate fellow voters, research the veracity of voter rolls, recruit and train polling place volunteers, and fully document observations all along the way. We’ve done it, we know it works, and we want to help others do the same in their communities. Our exportable model of training, technology, and support will prepare citizens for participation in the electoral process at whatever level of involvement they choose.

Breitbart.com: Where are you doing it?

The follwoing youtube video is Chatherine Engelbrecht giving a presentation regarding voter fraud. The clip is about 66 minutes, but well worth your time.
