Candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction – Frank Riggs
Frank Riggs is a three term U.S. Congressman, including chairman of the House of Representatives’ Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education. The conservative Heritage Foundation has endorsed him, saying, “Representative Riggs spearheaded many cutting-edge initiatives like school choice and charter schools.”
As CEO of a national nonprofit organization, Frank helped low-income student populations with their facility financing and development needs and was awarded Wachovia-Wells Fargo Bank NEXT Award for “Demonstrated Excellence in Financing.”
Frank graduated summa cum laude from Golden Gate University in San Francisco in 1980. He received the University’s “Associates Award” as the Outstanding Graduate in the College of Business and Public Administration.
Frank is a certified substitute teacher and states, “Teaching 7th Grade History this past school year is one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever had!” He and his wife of 37 years, Cathy, proud parents of three adult children with families, live in Scottsdale, AZ.
